Creek Rehabilitation
Design studies for Haramidere catchment wastewater collectors and interceptors and rehabilitation of Haramidere Creek was started previously by Istanbul Greater Municipality, General Directorate of Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI) and completed in 1988.
Main purpose of reconsidering this project is to collect the wastewater discharged to Haramidere from different points by collectors and to connect to the wastewater treatment plant to be constructed, and thus, to prevent pollution in the Marmara Sea. Another objective is to improve the stormwater discharge of the catchment.
For this purpose, wastewater collector and interceptor designs and Haramidere rehabilitation designs were reconsidered and improved, quantities were established and the technical specifications were prepared including the materials and standards. In addition, design of the wastewater treatment plant was also included in the project scope.
The wastewater treatment plant has been designed as a biological treatment process with extended aerated active sludge system and for the target year 2015.

Pollutant Load : 47,664 kgBOD5 /day
Design, engineering and consulting services of the project were completed. However, the project was cancelled in the tender stage because foreign credit could not be provided.
