Sewerage and Stormwater Network Design Works
DESCRIPTION OF WORKS:
The application design of Kuyuluk (İçel) sewerage was prepared such that wastewater of all residential areas and industries in and around the town would be collected. Preliminary sewerage design was previously prepared by the General Directorate of Iller Bank. The application design was produced based on the preliminary design and by considering the changes in the city’s development conditions from its construction until the date of this study. The sewerage system was designed to meet the demands until 2030. The treatment plant was designed in two stages to meet the demand of 2005 in the short term, and of 2030 in the long term.
Since some secondary lines could not be connected to the network because of the topography, septic pits were planned in low levels where small flows deposit. All creek, culvert and irrigation channel crossings in the network were designed individually.
The Kuyuluk sewerage network is connected to Mezitli sewerage network at four points. Wastewater of Kuyuluk will be treated with Mezitli wastewater in a common treatment plant on the land allocated by the Mezitli Municipality at the sea side, and the effluent will be discharged by a single sea outfall. The sewerage network is 114 km long in total.
DESIGN SERVICES:
Structural, reinforced concrete and implementation design for the sewerage system and pumping stations and all creek, culvert and irrigation channel crossings in the system were prepared. In addition, topographical surveys and geotechnical reports were prepared to find out the soil conditions and parameters for pipe trench excavations and pumping stations.
