Wastewater Treatment Plants
The application design of Mezitli (İçel) sewerage was prepared such that wastewater of all residential areas and industries in and around the town would be collected. Preliminary sewerage design was made prepared by the General Directorate of Iller Bank previously. The application design was produced based on the preliminary designs and by considering the changes in the city’s development since the construction date up to now. According to the population projections, it was calculated that the town population will be 160,000 in 2005 and 660,000 in 2030, and the sewerage system was designed in two stage for these populations. Reinforced concrete pipes were used in the system. Total length of the sewerage network is 262,5 km.
Wastewater of Mezitli will be treated with Kuyuluk wastewater in the wastewater treatment plant. Site selection for the treatment plant and design criteria to select biological treatment method have been determined.
Functional and economical comparisons of active sludge system and fixed film systems were carried out for selection of the wastewater treatment system. As a result of these comparisons, active sludge method with extended aeration has been adopted for Mezitli, Kuyuluk and neighboring area according to the target data of 2030.
Design Services:
All structural, reinforced concrete calculations and implementation designs for the sewerage system and pumping stations, sea embankment, special crossings, bracing and sheet piles in the system were made. In addition, ground surveys and geotechnical reports were prepared to find out the ground conditions and parameters for pipe trench excavations, pumping stations and the wastewater treatment plant.
