Project: Technical Assistance and Supervision for Siverek Wastewater Project

Description of The Work :

The city of Şanlıurfa is located in South-West of Turkey. There is no wastewater facility used in Siverek (a district of Şanlıurfa) which is based on engineering design. The wastewater and stormwater is collected in a combined manner and discharged to the dry river bed of Esmerçayı Creek.

The supervision service provides about the following items:

  • Technical assistance and capacity building
  • Assessing the need for equipment
  • Construction Supervision of wastewater and storm water investments
  • Design review & supervision of construction of WWTP including sludge treatment and handling. The first stage will serve until 2025 and the second stage will be until 2040.
  • Civil and piping works of discharge line
  • Design flow rates and equivalent populations:  

1st stage: Q=17.030 m3/day, 128.082 P.E.

2nd stage: Q=19.872 m3/day, 146.830 P.E.

  • Supervision of construction of wastewater and storm water collectors and rehabilitation of Esmerçayı creek.
  • Construction Supervision of wastewater collection network 241 km and reinstatement of stone covered road surfaces
  • Construction Supervision of 1.500 m wastewater collector pipelines to the entrance of WWTP.
  • Construction Supervision of Esmerçayı Creek rehabilitation with length of 6 km (construction of a U-shaped open channel, box culvert and trapezoidal channel with approximately width of 4 m and depth of 3,3 m)
  • Construction Supervision of stormwater collection network 3.000 m.

Services:

  • Technical assistance in the environment sector;
  • Supervision of wastewater system construction according to FIDIC conditions of contract;
  • Supervision of contractor’s detail design;
  • Capacity building and modernization of water utility department; development and improvement of institutional structures; training of personnel;
  • Technical assistance to the Municipality in institutional and financial aspects;
  • Regional experience particularly in Turkey;
  • Expertise in the implementation of EU funded projects.
