Wastewater Treatment Plants
Tikrit is located in north of Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. The design for second module of wastewater treatment plant with capacity of 36.000 m3/day for the goal year of 2040 has been prepared by ER-GE.
The original contract for this project is between Iraqi Ministry of Municipality & Public Works and Al-Ribat Co. under turnkey basis. There is an existing wastewater treatment plant, which is under a very bad operational condition and even over loaded. So this became so important for the consultant to prepare sate of art design with economic consideration to cover the contractor goals. The process system for the new module of Tikrit Wastewater treatment is Extended Aeration with A2O system. Also Disc Filter system has been designed for the purpose of utilizing effluent in irrigation.
The other important factor in designing this treatment is the soil condition, where any water infiltration to the soil would cause problems on bearing capacity of it. So a particular attention has been given in structural and drainage system design.
