Description of The Work :

Ramadi is the capital of Anbar Governorate and located in 110 km northwest of Baghdad with population of 427.301 in the goal year of 2038. The existing water treatment plant is insufficient to cover the potable water consumption of this city and especially for the new development areas in the west of the city.

This project consists of site surveying, water supply from Euphrates River and design of intake and raw water pumping stations, raw water transmission pipelines to the location of Water Treatment, design of conventional Water Treatment Plant composed aeration, Lamella Clarifiers, rapid sand filters, sludge removal, chlorination and 20.000 m3 treated water reservoir. Project also includes treated water transmission pipe lines with total length of 55km from 400mm to 1200mm ductile iron and design of 2 Booster Pumps and totally 25.000 m3 underground reservoirs.

Services:

  • Preparation of Feasibility Report and Primary design including different alternatives for raw water intake from Euphrates and hydraulic alternatives of different pipe diameters and pumping station (including number and arrangement of pumps) and selection the best option based on financial analysis for investment and operational costs
  • Preparation of EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment Report).
  • Undertaking topographical surveying for a route with total length of 55 km and width of 15 m for transmission pipeline and preparation contour elevation for 11,5 hectare land for raw water pumping station, water treatment plant and two feeding points.
  • Preparation of detailed design drawings including Plan-Profile, hydraulic calculation, detailed drawings of bends and connections, detailed design of pipe passing under Warrar channel (double 1000 mm pipeline, each one with length of 120 m) encased in a 1500 mm pipeline, detailed mechanical design of 250 mm Dual Air Valves, 300 mm and 200 mm Wash Out Valves and Butterfly Valves with diameters 500 mm to 1200 mm. Detailed design of crossing under roads and railways. Detailed design of transmitting pipelines with Ductile Iron Pipes (K9) and diameter from 500 mm to 1200 mm from intake to Water Treatment Plant and from WTP to 5 feeding points
  • Preparation of Water Hammer calculation and protection equipment consisting of two gas vessels each one with volume of 24,5 m3
  • Preparation of Architectural, Mechanical and Structural design of all components of the Raw Water Intake, Screening and Pumping Station including:
    • Trapezoidal intake channel with height of 7 m and width of 3,25 m in bottom and 21,20 m in top including Method of Statement and detailed technical specifications with total 41,50 m for raw water intake;
    • Coarse and Fine Screens;
    • Water Reservoir;
    • Raw water Pumping Station;
    • Flow Meter Room;
    • Operation Section, Transformer Building, Diesel Tank for Generator and  Guard House;
    • Roads, fences, gates, surrounding wall, landscape and lighting for the site;
    • Sewerage collection network, potable water network, storm water collection network;
    • Cesspool;
  • Preparation of Architectural, Mechanical and structural designs of all components of the Water Treatment Plant with capacity of 240.000 m3/day serving including:

    • Preparation of Final Design Report
    • Preparation of Method of Statement, Structural Calculation Reports, Process and Hydraulic Reports, Technical Specifications and BoQ for the Project.
