Water Transmission Pipeline Projects
Basmaya is a new residential complex which is located in 25 km east of Baghdad. This city is planned to accommodate around 600.000 occupants in a total of 100.000 residential units. The scope of this project is to supply raw water for the city.
This project consists of design, topographical surveying and geotechnical investigations. The source of water supply is Tigris River and project includes design of intake, screening units, raw water pumping stations and raw water transmission pipelines to the location of Water Treatment Plant within the city. The intake structure is trapezoidal concrete channel with depth of 16 m and length of 80 m. After intake there are coarse and fine screens, raw water reservoir and pumping station. Total length of raw water transmission pipelines is 2x16,5=33 km ductile iron with diameter of 1200mm and total flow of 15.000 m3/hr.
