Water Treatment Plants
The water treatment plant briefly consists of inlet structure and cascade aerator, coagulation and flocculation tanks (hydraulic), clarifiers (up-flow sludge blanket type), rapid sand filters, chlorination tank, water reservoir, chemicals building, chlorine building, wash water recovery and water balancing ponds, sludge thickeners, sludge dewatering building and other auxiliary buildings and structures
Raw water is supplied from the Palandöken Dam via 19.4 km of steel main transmission line. Raw water is treated to comply with the Turkish Potable Water Standards and the International Potable Water Standards.
Erzurum WTP is located at an altitude of approximately 2000 m a.s.l. in South Eastern Anatolia. Due to the severe winter conditions all units are designed as the closed buildings.

The Water Treatment Plant is planned to be constructed with a capacity to meet the demand of year 2015 in the first stage. For the second stage, construction of additional units is foreseen for the demand of 2025.
